John B. Levitt was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. He attended Stuyvesant High School in New York City and graduated from Cornell University in 1980 where he won the award for Outstanding Senior of 1980. John graduated Cornell Law School in 1983.

John was a practicing lawyer in New York and Florida from 1984 to 1998, concentrating in Estate Planning, Probate and Probate Litigation most recently as a Member of the Firm, Lewis, Vegosen & Rosenbach in West Palm Beach, Florida. He remains a member of the New York and Florida Bars. In 1998, John became a Trust Officer for a Private Client's Group of a major bank in Boca Raton, Florida. In 2001, he was hired by the Long Island Office of AXA Advisors, LLC and moved  wih his family to  Long Island. John is a Board Member of the "We Care" Charitable Committee of  the Nassau County Bar Association and is the former Chairman of the Law Week Committee of the Palm Beach County (Florida) Bar Association for 2000. John is a frequent lecturer for the National Business Institute and has authored publications on Living Trusts and Probate. John is the Treasurer of  the Cornell Alumni Club of Long Island.

John focuses on providing asset management guidance, primarily estate and tax planning, for high net worth individuals, along with retirement funding and investment advisory services for businesses.  John was recently recognized as a Reuters Advice Point Top Advisor for 2008. This list recognizes the top financial advisors in communities across America.
